Our mission:
Coffee House Talks exists to further the discussion of progressive ideas among the American body politic. Through original analysis and commentary in the areas of culture, race, gender, class, politics, and media, the authors hope to utilize their personal experience and expertise to advance the goals of social justice and equality by helping to shape the national conversation about these issues.
The name:
The name Coffee House Talks is a tribute to the coffee house that used to exist on the 3rd floor of MIT's Student Center. We used to spend long nights there engaged in political, religious, and otherwise existential conversation. In reality, this blog has existed for almost a decade. It's just now that we're putting it online.
