Joe Sestak defeats Arlen Specter in PA Democratic Senate Primary

The AP projects that Joe Sestak has defeated 30-year incumbent Pennsylvania Senator Arlen Specter in the Democratic Primary.  Sestak will go on to face former Club for Growth president Pat Toomey, the right-wing Republican candidate in November.

Most agree that momentum turned towards Sestak after his campaign put out a television ad showing Arlen Specter brazenly describing his recent switch to the Democratic Party as a means of getting re-elected.  The ad is embedded below the fold.

Potential Shakeup in SC-01 as Club for Growth Endorses Tim Scott

It's only March 23rd, but it's not too early to talk about November.  One House race to keep an eye on is SC-01, where there may be a bit of a shake-up in the works for the crowded Republican field, as the far right Club for Growth (CFG) put its finger on the scale today by endorsing Tim Scott (pictured), just the 11th candidate they've endorsed during this election cycle nationally.  This endorsement is interesting for a few reasons.
